Annual Wellness Visits (AWV) Video

Published 06/27/2024

The goal of Medicare's Annual Wellness Visit (AWV) is health promotion and disease detection, and it encourages patients to get the screening and preventive services that we may already cover and pay for under Part B. The AWV includes showing, or updating, the person’s medical and family history, height, weight, body-mass index (BMI) or waist circumference, and blood pressure.

Watch this quick video on Annual Wellness Visits (AWV) Video to help understand coverage and documentation requirements. Visit Medicare Wellness Visits educational tool for more information on the IPPE, AWV, and routine physical exams.
